I know GE and other oil giants were successful in preventing Americans access to fast, more effective monorails.

Open Question: Why don't we have monorails? (No pseudo enivronmentalists or rednecks please)?
A lot of people argue there's no sense in the USA reducing our greenhouse gas emissions because China's continue to increase. The ridiculousness of that argument aside, China is now making strides to reduce their emissions

Open Question: What do you think of China's long-term plans to curb greenhouse gases?
Written largely by professional environmentalists, the numbingly complex 942-page bill would require an 83% reduction in U.S. carbon dioxide emissions by 2050 — a level last seen in 1908

Open Question: Will people be happy losing their jobs to a plan created by radical environmentalists?
I hope I'm not being too cynical, but didn't Obama promise that "the earth will begin to cool, and electric cars and wind power will prevail" during the campaign? Last time I checked, the unemployment rate is still ticking upwards, every car on the road runs on gasoline, there's been no progress on global warming nor immigration reform, he's done nothing for the gay-rights community nor for women's reproductive rights, and I don't see any "post-partisan era". Is there ANY way there can be a different Democratic candidate in 2012

i have to do this stupid project on energy sources and i chose wind power!

Open Question: What was the first country to have wind power energy sourse?
I'm making a wind powered generator for a physics project at school - the magnets are going to be rotated near magnet wires,so that they induce a current and generate electricity
So,I'm wondering, is there a sort of magnet strength I should use at minimum? I'm looking at 6lbs/3000g of pull force to about 9lbs/3000 g (these aren't the exact numbers, but I'm looking at a range of magnets here) I'd be happy with a voltage of 1 to 4 V,and at least some amount of current (amp)
